Please help save the life of Stephen Scarduzio

My brother Stephen Scarduzio (Zolman Dov ben Fruma Chana) is 33 y.o. and has been living without a functioning kidney for over 2 years. This is the 2nd time in his life he has been without a kidney. His transplanted kidney from 15 years ago had suddenly started deteriorating in October of 2003. The numerous illnesses and great pain that this condition has caused him are undescribeable. Some of the procedures he's had to endure bring tears to my eyes & break my heart (i.e. a shunt removed from his neck with no anesthesia). He's been rushed to the Emergency rooms on numerous occasions. He is tired all the time, but ironically cannot sleep very well due to various problems that having no kidney brings on. He is a very brave young man, and all he wants is his life back. He almost never complains but you can tell that he is constantly in pain. He goes to dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours at a time. Unfortunately, no one in my immediate family, that is healthy, matches his blood type - B+. My brother & father have joined "Swap" programs. However, twice possible donors fell through. I could go on & on about all of the heartache & frustration & pain Stephen has gone through but it would take pages & pages.

All I know is that my brother truly deserves a donor kidney and to get his life back. He is a graduate of Rutgers University & had recently received his certification as a Real Estate agent. He is also a very thoughtful, caring, and fun person. This disease has stripped him of his self. Thank you for any help you may be able to give or find for him, Gina Bennett, Steve's sister.

Also, for information on donating and the SWAP Program at two hospitals (Lady of Lourdes in Southern NJ and Columbia/ Pres in NY), please contact Flori Scarduzio email floranns@hotmail, or telephone (856) 779-1310 (215) 512-7664.
