Dr. Michael Harris has spent most of his life saving the
lives of children. Now, his own Dr. Michael Harris life needs saving. The
prominent pediatric cancer specialist contracted hepatitis C from an accidental
needle stick while treating one of his young cancer patients, and now Dr.
Harris desperately needs a cadaver liver transplant. Although he is on an
appropriate list for receiving a transplant, his best chance for survival is
for a directed organ donation -- where the family of a suitable, potential
donor can opt to donate the liver directly to Dr. Harris through a national
organ transplant program.
