Neshama.org
assists people who are in need of medical transplants and other special needs
by publishing information in search of live donors who otherwise may not donate
organs. It is not a bypass or work-around to the United Network for Organ
Sharing system, or UNOS. In
fact, we support the UNOS
system.
We believe that there are many people who, if
they know of a specific need, would consider donating for that specific need
that may otherwise go unfilled.
Neshama is a Jewish
organization geared toward helping people in the Jewish community, but we do
not require people to be Jewish to be listed on our website.
In order for this to get posted to the Neshama.org
website, you will need to do the following:
- Use the Neshama
Contact page to send us the
story you want posted. The email needs to have a sentence at the top
specifically requesting it to be published at the Neshama.org website. The
email should also contain the person's Hebrew name, if available.
- When we reply to your email, we will ask you to send some
photos that we can publish along with your story. Please respond to the email
with a 2-3 photos attachments.
- Fax us a document, such as a letter from the hospital
mentioning who the patient in need of a transplant is. This letter will be kept
confidential and only used for verification of need. It does not need to be
anything more than a cover letter mentioning that the person is in fact a
patient waiting for a transplant. You can fax that letter to 216-649-0555. That
goes directly to us and the document will not be published.
- Fax us a document stating Neshama.org has permission to
post your story. This should be signed and notarized. Fax that letter to
216-649-0555. This permission letter goes directly to us and the document will
not be published.
- Upon approval, your request will be posted.
- You will need to email us at least once every six months
with a status update to remain posted in our system. Failure to keep us updated
will result in your profile being removed from the site.
Thank you, Neshama.org
